Background
Efoy Nanny and Housekeeping Training Center was founded by Milky, a dedicated mother of three who was born and raised in Addis Ababa. Milky holds a degree in Ethiopian Language and Literature and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Addis Ababa University. Her entrepreneurial journey began out of a personal challenge: struggling to find a qualified nanny for her first-born daughter. Despite numerous attempts through local brokers, she was unable to find a skilled caregiver, leading her to leave her job and become a full-time mom.
Realizing that her experience was not unique, Milky identified a broader issue affecting many women in similar situations and noted the rising trend of young women migrating illegally in search of employment. Driven by a desire to address these challenges, she established Efoy Nanny and Housekeeping Training Center in April 2021.
The center, located around Yerer in Addis Ababa, aims to fill the gap in the market by offering comprehensive training programs for nannies, with plans to expand into housekeeping training. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools and led by experienced instructors, Efoy provides practical and hands-on courses designed to equip trainees with the skills needed for effective childcare and household management.
